The Medical Council of India (MCI) has now been replaced by the National Medical Commission (NMC). However, the NMC recognizes the following medical universities in Georgia for Indian students to pursue MBBS programs: Tbilisi State Medical University David Tvildiani Medical University Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University Georgian National University Akaki Tsereteli State University These universities are recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and are also included in the International Medical Education Directory (IMED), which makes them eligible for the Medical Council of India (MCI) screening test or Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE). It is recommended that students research and verify the current status of recognition and accreditation of these universities by the appropriate regulatory authorities before making a decision to pursue an MBBS program in Georgia.
